How to get to Sforza Castle & Sempione Park by metro

Overview

Sforza Castle is one of the most imposing fortresses in Europe, now home to museums holding, among other works, Michelangelo's Rondanini Pietà. Behind it stretches Sempione Park, the large green lung of the city centre with the Arch of Peace.

How to get there

Get off at Cairoli Castello on line M1 (red): the exit leaves you practically in front of the Filarete Tower, the castle's main entrance, about a 2-minute walk. Walking through the castle courtyards takes you straight into Sempione Park.

Good to know

💡 Access to the castle courtyards and the park is free; you only pay to enter the indoor museums. The park is ideal for a break: allow extra time for the Arch of Peace and the Branca Tower. As an alternative you can also use Cadorna FN (M1/M2), a little farther away.
