How to get to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II & La Scala by metro
Overview
The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is Milan's elegant drawing room, a 19th-century covered arcade with luxury boutiques, historic cafés and the famous bull mosaic. It links Piazza del Duomo to Piazza della Scala, home of La Scala, the world's temple of opera.

How to get there
The most convenient stop is Duomo (lines M1 red and M3 yellow): the Galleria's entrance opens right onto Piazza del Duomo, about 2 minutes from the metro exits. Walking through the Galleria, a couple of minutes brings you to Piazza della Scala in front of the theatre.
Good to know
💡 Strolling through the Galleria is free and open at all hours. For La Scala you can visit the theatre museum or attend a performance: opera tickets should be booked well in advance. As an alternative, Montenapoleone (M3) is also close to the theatre.
