Amendola — overview
Amendola holds a curious record: it was first opened to the public during the 1963 Milan Trade Fair, more than a year before the metro was officially inaugurated, to show visitors what the new line would look like. It then entered regular service on 1 November 1964 with the first stretch. It serves piazzale Giulio Cesare, in front of the fair's historic entrance — now CityLife — and has a bar and toilets.
