Uruguay — overview
Uruguay opened on 12 April 1980 with the extension from QT8 to San Leonardo. In the original plans the station was to be called Gallaratese 1, after the district it serves: the large Gallaratese housing estate, famous among architects for the Monte Amiata block by Aldo Rossi and Carlo Aymonino. It has a newsstand and escalators.
