Turro — overview
Turro, opened with the first stretch on 1 November 1964, serves the district of the same name in north-east Milan, which grew up along viale Monza among tenement courtyards and post-war apartment blocks. It is one of the red-line stops with the most on-site conveniences: a bar and a newsstand as well as escalators and ticket machines. The name comes from the village of Turro Milanese, an independent municipality until 1918.
