Sesto Rondò — overview
Opened on 28 September 1986 with the extension from Sesto Marelli to the Sesto 1° Maggio FS terminus, Sesto Rondò serves the commercial heart of Sesto San Giovanni. The name comes from the «rondò», the roundabout that local traffic still turns around. The old Sesto San Giovanni station on the Milan–Monza railway once stood here, replaced by the present building in 1966 — one of those spots where you can read the layers of Lombard transport history, from a nineteenth-century railway to a 1980s metro.

The rondò is the commercial heart of Sesto San Giovanni: shops, banks and municipal offices around the roundabout. Not far away is the Carroponte, an open-air concert venue built inside the former Breda works, and the park at Villa Zorn.
